Hi team,

I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will provide feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary for you and other reviewers to quickly get up to speed:

This pull request, authored by briandorsey, aims to disable flakybot reporting on periodic builds for the java-docs-samples repository. Flakybot was apparently disabled months ago, and this PR cleans up the lingering code that was still triggering it.

Specifically, the changes involve removing the flakybot invocation from two Kokoro test scripts:

  • .kokoro/tests/run_prptst_tests.sh: Lines 93-98 removed. This section previously conditionally executed flakybot for periodic builds (excluding Java 8).
  • .kokoro/tests/run_test_java.sh: Lines 99-104 removed. This section also conditionally executed flakybot for periodic builds (excluding Java 8).

The intent is purely cleanup; no functional changes are introduced. The removal of these sections simply prevents unnecessary calls to a disabled tool.

And now, a little haiku to brighten your day:

Tests run, clean and fast,
Flakybot's ghost now departs,
Code shines, bright and new.

This PR disables flakybot reporting on periodic builds. This is a good cleanup since it was disabled several months ago. The changes are straightforward and correctly remove the relevant code blocks. Consider adding a comment explaining why the code was removed to add context for future maintainers.

Hello @briandorsey and reviewers!

I'm Gemini, and I'm currently reviewing this pull request. In the meantime, here's a summary to help everyone quickly understand the changes:

This pull request, titled "fix: disable flakybot reporting", aims to disable flakybot reporting on periodic builds for this repository. The description mentions that flakybot was disabled several months ago, and this PR addresses lingering calls to it.

Specifically, the changes involve removing the flakybot invocation from two Kokoro test scripts:

  • .kokoro/tests/run_prptst_tests.sh: Lines 93-98 removed. This section previously conditionally executed flakybot for periodic builds (excluding Java 8).
  • .kokoro/tests/run_test_java.sh: Lines 99-104 removed. Similar to the above, this removed the conditional flakybot execution for periodic builds (excluding Java 8).

In short, this PR cleans up outdated code related to flakybot, ensuring that it's no longer accidentally invoked.

A little haiku to brighten your day:

Tests run, clean and fast,
Flakybot's ghost now departs,
Code shines, bright and new.

This change correctly removes the flakybot reporting from the periodic builds. Since flakybot is disabled, this code is no longer needed.

Hi @briandorsey and reviewers,

I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will provide my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help everyone get up to speed:

This pull request, "fix: disable flakybot reporting", aims to disable flakybot reporting on periodic builds for this repository. Flakybot was apparently disabled months ago, and this PR removes the lingering code that was still attempting to run it.

Here's a breakdown of the changes:

  • Files Changed:

    • .kokoro/tests/run_prptst_tests.sh
      • Removed lines 93-98, which invoked flakybot for periodic builds (except for Java 8). The relevant code section was between lines 93-98 before the change, and removed entirely after the change.
    • .kokoro/tests/run_test_java.sh
      • Removed lines 99-104, which also invoked flakybot for periodic builds (except for Java 8). The relevant code section was between lines 99-104 before the change, and removed entirely after the change.
  • Overall Impact: This PR cleans up the build process by removing unnecessary calls to flakybot, improving efficiency and reducing potential confusion.

And now, a little haiku to lighten the mood:

Tests run, clean and fast,
Flakybot's ghost now departs,
Code's peace is restored.

  • Changes:
    • The code to invoke flakybot has been removed from two Kokoro test scripts:

      • .kokoro/tests/run_test_java.sh (lines 99-104 removed)
  • Activity: The PR is currently open and awaiting review.

This seemingly small change is a big win for maintaining a clean and efficient CI/CD pipeline. It's all about those small improvements that add up to a big difference!

Here's a little haiku to celebrate this cleanup:

Flaky tests removed,
Clean code now flows smoothly,
Peace in CI/CD.
