That covers a bunch of what I was doing with Everett, though a little differently. I don't think it provides convenience functions for testing (e.g. override) and I don't think it provides any autodocumentation, but I bet I was the only person to really use either of those.

This covers researching pydantic_settings further and if it's good enough, deprecating everett in favor of that, python-decouple, and friends.

We do use a lot of everett's functionality in comet_ml, including override I believe. Especially the Config nesting of lookups.

Actually, we pinned the version we use of everertt. As long as those stay in pypi.org, we're good. ANd the team says they also would like to migrate to pydantic_settings eventually.

And BTW, thank you for maintaining this library for all of these years!
