"Setting innerHTML for the log threw an exception"

I get this when running url/a-element-origin-xhtml.xhtml. It seems the log functionality is not XML-compatible?

The problem is this input from urltestdata.json: \u0000\u001b\u0004\u0012 http://example.com/\u001f \u000d .

Perhaps in XML mode we need to decide to strip or escape code points not allowed by https://www.w3.org/TR/xml/#dt-text somehow.

Or we should just stop using innerHTML.

I believe we (@ayg) moved to innerHTML because manually creating the DOM tree was much slower.

This fortunately does not affect wpt.fyi and probably not any browser engines' use of wpt, but all the same tests on w3c-test.org.

Fix might be to catch the exception, document.implementation.createHTMLDocument, set innerHTML there, and then move then resulting nodes over?
