How to check if custom EDID indeed takes effect? #4073
-
Hey everyone! As the name suggests, I cannot get custom EDID to work
My goal is to be able to run display at 3360 * 1417 @ 100+ Hz. Currently it is locked at 60 max. I've been following this guide https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/1bciq31/dell_u4025qw_create_custom_edid_to_get_100_hz/ and here is what I've done so far:
Rebooted, but nothing happens -> still max refresh rate is 60Hz in system settings. BD runs at system startup and does not see any other refresh rates as well. Could it be that there are some specific permissions missing for BD in system settings? |

Try changing some other obviously verifiable EDID data, like the display name. If that changes after reboot, then the EDID override does take place - the missing resolution is due to hardware or connection limitations, not an EDID issue. |
