VisIt particle tracer

Hi,
I have a 3D reactive flow code for flame simulations. It uses the Boxlib library, and the mesh has four levels of refinements. I want to take a particle inside the flow and visualize its path, track its temperature in this path throughout the simulation, and export the temperature data. However, I could not find any particle tracer feature in VisIt. Is there a particle tracer feature in VisIt?

I think you are looking for VisIt's Integral Curve System (ICS).

This aneurysm tutorial may be helpful. In particular, you create the desired Plot+Operator combination like you see in this section of that tutorial.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the reply. I studied the tutorial you shared. I did create streamlines and pathlines for my data. However, I could not understand how to track a massless particle's temperature.

I agree...it is not that intuitive...

1. Go to Plots->Pseudocolor->Operators->Integral Curve->your vector variable
2. Expand the Plot created in step one in the plot list to access its ICS operator
3. Double click the ICS operator to bring up its attributes
4. Adjust the ICS attributes as necessary to generate the desired pathlines
5. Go to Appearance tab of ICS operator attributes
6. Select Variable in the Color by pull down
7. Select your temperature variable from the drop down->Scalars that appears to right
8. Hit draw
