The vector agg functions didn't handle NaN-floats properly for min/max functions, which produced the wrong min() output when NaN values were presents (e.g., picking NaN over -Inf). NaN-checks are different for min and max so the checks are moved to the predicate macro instead of being defined in the template function.

The previously erroneous handling of NaN is evident by some of the changes in the test output. However, some queries didn't run any actual vectorized agg plans when they should have, thus "accidentally" producing the correct min result in the test file. In those cases, instead of the vectorized plan, the test ran an init plan doing a sort with a limit of 1 to find the min. Disabling sort in the test ensures the plan is vectorized, and thus producing the erroneous result when the fix is not present.

This probably does nothing atm -- I removed the plans for min/max w/o grouping on main, and with grouping by segmentby the initplan is not possible. It still tests the same code though. If you checked that this disables the initplan, maybe we should return the min/max w/o grouping.

Without disabling sort you get the init plan. I checked.

For which query? It can't do this thing for queries like select ss, min(cfloat4) from aggfns where cfloat8 < 1000 group by ss order by min(cfloat4), ss limit 10; that are supposed to use hash grouping, right?

My comment about index scan is probably misleading, so I should remove it.

Here's the plan and query:

Yeah, you sent me this one before, but this is without grouping. The difference in "min" is also present with grouping by "s" and "ss", and they are already using the vectorized plans -- they have a NaN result which doesn't happen with Postgres plans.

The queries like the one in the screenshot are currently not tested, I disabled them because I didn't know how to disable the initplan.

Oh, sorry for the confusion, apparently the thing where I disable min/max w/o grouping was not merged yet 😅 So this means your cost change is fine as is.

Let's add a comment that we have to support the non-standard Postgres NaN behavior.

This release introduces the ability to add secondary indexes to the columnstore, improves group by and filtering performance through columnstore vectorization, and contains the highly upvoted community request of transition table support. We recommend that you upgrade at the next available opportunity.

**Highlighted features in TimescaleDB v2.18.0**

* The ability to add secondary indexes to the columnstore through the new hypercore table access method.
* Significant performance improvements through vectorization (`SIMD`) for aggregations using a group by with one column and/or using a filter clause when querying the columnstore.
* Hypertables support triggers for transition tables, which is one of the most upvoted community feature requests.
* Updated methods to manage Timescale's hybrid row-columnar store (hypercore) that highlight the usage of the columnstore which includes both an optimized columnar format as well as compression.

**Dropping support for Bitnami images**

After the recent change in Bitnami’s [LTS support policy](bitnami/containers#75671), we are no longer building Bitnami images for TimescaleDB. We recommend using the [official TimescaleDB Docker image](https://hub.docker.com/r/timescale/timescaledb-ha)

**Thanks**
* @bharrisau for reporting the segfault when creating chunks.
* @jakehedlund for reporting the incompatible NaN behavior in WHERE clause over compressed tables.
* @k-rus for suggesting that we add a hint when hypertable creation fails.
* @staticlibs for sending the pull request that improves the transaction check in CAGG refresh.
* @uasiddiqi for reporting the `aggregated compressed column not found` error.
