As external, I can't :

• Invite
• Create Room/Space
• Be an admin
• Join a public room
• [edit Estelle] modify room settings

Try to log with an external account is ok :

I have to select my homeserver

I can't find any public room to join

I can't start and find a user for a DM

I can't create, public, private or private with external rooms

You test isn't valide : you need to change the homeserver :

Added another test suggestion : when you are in a room, or in a DM, can you modify settings for the room ? (you should not be able to)

If you enter an ID can you open a DM ?
