Hello GitHub Support,
I activated the free trial for GitHub Copilot Pro, but after doing so, I
keep seeing a message that says I've reached the free usage limit. The
system also keeps prompting me to subscribe again, even though I’ve already
started the trial.
I’ve verified that I’m logged into the correct account, cleared my cache,
and re-logged in, but the issue persists.
Can you please check if the trial is properly active on my account and help
resolve this?

This is a *known issue* that some users face occasionally with Copilot
Pro activation. Here’s how you (or someone in a similar situation) can
resolve it:
------------------------------
✅ *Steps to Troubleshoot GitHub Copilot Pro Not Activating*
1.
*Confirm Payment Status*
- Go to https://github.com/settings/billing
- Ensure the *Copilot Pro* subscription is listed and *Active*.
- Check your email for a *GitHub payment confirmation*.
2.
*Force Sign Out & Sign In*
-
In VS Code:
- Open Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P)
- Type: GitHub: Sign Out
- Then: GitHub: Sign In
-
Make sure you're logging in with the *same account* used for the
Copilot Pro subscription.
3.
*Check Your Account*
-
Go to https://github.com/features/copilot
-
You should see something like:
✅ You are subscribed to Copilot Pro.
4.
*Restart Visual Studio Code*
- After signing in again, restart VS Code completely.
- Wait for Copilot to activate (watch for the “Copilot is ready”
message at the bottom).
5.
*Check Extension Status*
- Open Extensions (Ctrl+Shift+X)
- Ensure *GitHub Copilot* and *Copilot Chat* are installed and up
to date.
6.
*Clear Copilot Authentication Tokens (if needed)*
- Delete the GitHub authentication tokens stored in your system
keychain.
- Then sign in again from VS Code.
------------------------------
🛠 Still Not Working?
- Try signing in using the browser instead of the in-app prompt.
- *Disable VPN/Firewall* temporarily (they might block authentication).
- Try logging into GitHub on a different browser and verify Copilot
Pro is active.
------------------------------
📩 If Nothing Works:
Contact GitHub Support directly here:
Select: *Billing > GitHub Copilot Pro*
Attach your invoice and payment screenshot if possible.
------------------------------
Let me know if you'd like a sample message to send to GitHub Support.
