Lost access to Copilot Pro, still verified as a student

I've been approved as a student at Georgia Tech last month and have been using the upgraded Copilot Pro access we get as part of that package. This morning I logged into my account and stumbled upon a rate limit counter in VSCode displaying I'd almost used up my Free plan. Confused, I went back to the Github education page and it claimed I was still fully verified and had all my benefits.

What's going on here? Why can't I seem to access Copilot Pro? I've seen this discussion, but it doesn't really resolve my issue.

Hi @brandonbraun653,

Did you redeem your Copilot PRO offer? If not, go to the pack offers page, scroll down to the "All offers" section and select Copilot, if you still experience problems afterwards, I suggest you to contact support by opening a ticket here, select "I am a verified student having trouble redeeming my Global Campus offers" and explain your issue.

How to enable Copilot Pro for GitHub Education verified students/teachers?
Once you have been successfully approved as a verified student or educator, your academic benefits will become available within a few days. You will receive an email when your academic benefits are ready to be redeemed.

Once the benefits are applied, Copilot Pro can be claimed via the benefits page or this signup link.

That was the issue. I've been on the program before and the benefits immediately applied with no intervention, so this extra step was not very clear. Thanks for sharing!
