github.com top search bar - currently seeing rate limit issues #141004

Select Topic AreaQuestion BodyIs anyone else seeing the 'secondary rate limit' error today when just doing single searches in the github.com top level search bar with a regular web browser? There is not automation involved here. This has been happening for hours today.

Thanks for the hints regarding searching while logged out. Logging in "solves" the problem for users with an account. This is still happening when searching and not logged in. Every time. For any githubians listening here, if that is not a bug (i.e., intentional), then either (a) remove the search bar option for non-logged in sessions or (b) change the error message. |

As mentioned in the other thread, a fix was applied by github on or around Nov 6. I do occasionally still see the "rate limit" error when doing manually searches on the main github.com, but maybe 95% of the time, it works fine. I think their trigger for this could probably still use some tuning so that a few human searches don't trigger the rate limit. But it is much better than in the few months before this report (where it basically never worked unless logged in). I'll close this thread. |

Closing this thread as it usually works now after fixes applied by github ~Nov 6, 2024. I don't know exactly what the fixes were or where they are documented (e.g., actual commits or release notes). That'd be nice to have in this closing comment, but I didn't find anything in brief searching. |

Still an issue, my website is randomly showing some images and some not, while the code is well-written and all the image links are correctly associated with files in my repository. |
