Well depending if you have a database to query all the users and check credentials for login or not. I would recommend creating an API that handles all the request to a certain database, and you can requests from your front end whenever a form (like this login interface) is submitted. Hi, I must say that the HTML code you have used for the login form is very easy and basic. However, it can be more efficient if few changes are made. For example, the password input field should be of type='password' instead of type='text', it helps because the letters entered are not shown.
Furthermore, the other option would be to include label tags for both the username and password text boxes. This promotes usability of the form. Furthermore, it is important to incorporate a name attribute for every input field so that the collection of data by the form is properly routed to the backend.
