I'm reaching out to inquire about the current support status for memif/vhost-user interfaces in the SD-Core User Plane Function (UPF). Specifically, I'm interested in implementing Service Function Chaining (SFC) without requiring traffic to transit via the standard DPDK PCIe interfaces.

Does the current SD-Core UPF implementation support memif/vhost-user interfaces for more efficient packet processing and Service Function Chaining? This capability would be valuable for creating optimized service chains with reduced latency and improved performance by avoiding unnecessary PCIe transitions.
If this feature is not currently supported, would the SD-Core team consider adding it to the roadmap? The ability to leverage memif/vhost-user would significantly enhance deployment flexibility and performance for advanced 5G network architectures requiring sophisticated service chaining.
