Geocode by stop id

Hello, currently it is not possible to use the geocode api endpoint to get information about a stop by id. Example: /geocode?text=fr-eurostar-gtfs_7015400 does not include the expected stop.

Also the stoptimes endpoint does not give information about the stop itself.

Is there any option to get data about a stop by it's id, like name and coordinates?

It would be helpful

• to have an endpoint like this: /geocode?stopId=fr-eurostar-gtfs_7015400
• or if the existing geocode endpoint would include a search by id (exact match would be best to not affect normal searches)

Sorry for the late response, I somehow thought that there had been a response to this.

The stoptimes endpoint includes that information (at least if you're really only interested in name and coordinates) in the individual departures/arrivals under place (where this info is repeated because different trips may arrive/depart at different platforms/substops).

There is also the debug endpoint which contains this info by stop/"location", but the debug endpoint structure may change without notice so be careful with that.

If you really need this, it is ofc feasible to include this in the geocode endpoint. Feel free to create a PR, otherwise we can keep this issue open until we address this.

A use case would be a url containing the stop id to a page displaying departures and information about the stop.

The way you described works just as long as there are any departures/arrivals.

What would you prefer, extending the stoptimes or the geocode endpoint? Maybe I can help if I have some time in a few weeks.

You're right, this is actually also ugly in our UI. So I think since the stoptimes response is thankfully already an object, it would be easiest to just add a field (presumably just another place object) there next to stopTimes? Then for that use case no further API requests are needed.
