Can contributors do anything to make tests run faster?

Hi! Just to review are you only running tests or also trying it out as you go by running the extension and trying it yourself in the extension host? Also are you running all tests or only a subset of tests?

Hello Eleanor, in this case, I was wondering if contributors can do anything to speed up

python -m nox --session tests

when, for example, they are only interested in new

src/test/python_tests/test_code_actions.py

tests.

python -m nox --session tests is the only way I see to run tests in the Contributing Guide.

It takes about 50 seconds or so to run on my device.

I suppose one option for contributors to speed things up is to temporarily comment out old test cases, but maybe there are other ways to make things faster.

You should be able to use the Test view to run and debug, specific things:

Ah, that is a nice UI. I wasn't aware of it.

That lets us run specific tests, as opposed to all of them. That should save contributors some time.
