Hi!

I'm from the Ultramarine Linux team, and we recently created WSL images. These are now up on the Microsoft Store, and I would like to add it here as well!

Please let me know if there is anything else needed from us.

Hi @Owen-sz , thank you for the contribution!

At this point for the distributionsManifest.json list that shows up in wsl.exe --list --online, we are only allowing distributions who meet the membership criteria for the security mailing list. This is for security purposes incase we need to put out early warnings, request fixes, etc.

But luckily there are more options to distribute your WSL distro than just this list! I'm glad to hear you have a page on the Store, you can also distribute your .wsl file directly on your web page as a download link that users can double click to install, or you could give command line instructions like curl <urlTo.wsl> -o <distro.wsl>; wsl --install --from-file <distro.wsl> to install.

I'll close this pull request for now for bookkeeping purposes, but I'll still have it watched so if you have any feedback please comment it here and I'll see it. Thank you!

Hey Craig,

Based on the given criteria, I agree I don't see us meeting that in the near future. I will however work on setting up a direct .wsl file distribution method for our users, and if anything new comes up in the future I will let you know.

Thank you!

Sounds good. Please let me know if you do end up making a web page or link to it, as I'd love to tweet / post about it :)
