.NET Framework 4.8 user here. There are some of us maintaining & improving apps which were started before .NET Core matured, and I have found porting to even .NET 6.0 for a WPF app to be problematic and a step backwards, frankly.

In my experience .NET Standard libraries need to be built for the .NET Framework to properly work with it.
