SearchView

Install

Step 1. Add the JitPack repository to your build file

allprojects {
    repositories {
        ...
        maven { url 'https://jitpack.io' }
    }
}

Step 2. Add the dependency

dependencies {
	implementation 'com.github.lmgy:SearchView:1.0.0'
}

Usage

• Add SearchView to your layout file with Toolbar

<FrameLayout
    android:id="@+id/toolbar_container"
    android:layout_width="match_parent"
    android:layout_height="wrap_content">

    <androidx.appcompat.widget.Toolbar
        android:id="@+id/toolbar"
        android:layout_width="match_parent"
        android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
        android:background="?attr/colorPrimary"
        app:titleTextColor="@android:color/white" />

    <com.lmgy.searchview.SearchView
        android:id="@+id/searchView"
        android:layout_width="match_parent"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        android:hint="This is hint" />

</FrameLayout>

• Add the search item into the menu file

    android:id="@+id/action_search"
    android:icon="@drawable/ic_action_action_search"
    android:orderInCategory="100"
    android:title="search"
    app:showAsAction="always" />

• Define it in the onCreateOptionsMenu

override fun onCreateOptionsMenu(menu: Menu?): Boolean {
    menuInflater.inflate(R.menu.menu_search_view, menu)

    searchView.setMenuItem(item)

• Set the listener

searchView.setOnQueryTextListener(object : OnQueryTextListener{
