[discussion] Brainstorm methods for getting more project involvement from JF member organizations

We've been discussing getting more involvement from the JF member organizations. Having some structure (i.e. a well-lit path) around contribution may increase engagement.

Some random ideas:

1. inviting orgs to host events (maybe we could find some people, e.g. Googlers to take point on organizing)
2. having clearer points of contact for different projects
3. a Jupyter community newsletter that orgs could circulate internally.
4. asking some of the sub-projects for opportunities for clear-cut projects that people could pick up

Anyone have thoughts?

I think @Zsailer @ellisonbg and @bigsur0 had some thoughts about this. Thoughts? Maybe we could come up with some ideas before next GB meeting.

I wrote up a little blog post brainstorm with some thoughts on "glue" roles that the Foundation could support. It is totally unpolished and more of a "writing brainstorming doc", but I suspect a lot of those things would also facilitate contributions from the member communities as well.

It feels like "making it easier for member organizations to contribute to Jupyter" would be a good target for Jupyter Foundation funds, and would also likely lead towards improvements at an ecosystem-wide level as well.
