Leaks During Updates

What happens when the app is being updated while the device is connected to the internet? Does the kill switch remain active or is it possible it is deactivated, leading to leaks and privacy issues?

When Android OS “Always-on VPN” and “Block connections without VPN” are enabled, while IVPN Android app is being updated - device traffic should be blocked until VPN tunnel is re-established.

Important

In critical situations, when traffic leak outside VPN tunnel can cause serious privacy/security issues, I would NOT recommend using Android OS at all, as “Always-on VPN” and “Block connections without VPN” features are not 100% reliable. Mobile OS without any issues when it comes to handling VPN traffic properly - not that I'm aware of. Alternatives such as GrapheneOS had similar issues (DNS leak, faulting kill-switch feature, etc.) reported.

Then perhaps there should be a notification or warning to consider turning on airplane mode before updating.
