When debugging the source code, you cannot get all the checkers

I downloaded the v2.2.1 source code and want to debug the source code through vscode. I'm debugging to version_ scanner.print_ The console does not print out the set of plug-ins when the Checkers () code is. You can refer to my screenshot### _**

run python3 setup.py egg_info in terminal and try again

Quick explanation: the checkers are loaded from the installed egg info, so the solution above lets you generate the information without doing the install. This only affects folk not running a version installed from pip.

That said, it comes up often enough for developers that I'd love if we had a workaround so this happens automatically for command line runs. Right now the update code runs in version_scanner.py if we're installed in develop mode, but not for straight command line runs.

Reviewed the issue, I suggest to add a debug statement in the code informing the user about the checkers issue. Adding the statement after the checkers get listed came up on gitter, so that would be a good place to update and close this issue.

I'm going to move this out of the 3.1 required pool for the debug info addition. We've already addressed improving the loading of checkers elsewhere so only the debug message remains before we close this issue.
