i3status buffer overflow / segmentation fault

How to reproduce:

1. create a hotspot with 32 byte SSID: eg 'ThisIsAVeryLongSSIDToTestI3Fault'

2. run i3status with the default configuration:

~$ cd ~/.config/i3status
~/.config/i3status$ mv config config.disabled
~/.config/i3status$ i3status
i3status: trying to auto-detect output_format setting
i3status: auto-detected "term"
socket(): Address family not supported by protocol
*** buffer overflow detected ***: terminated
Aborted (core dumped)

Hello! I can reproduce with an older version of i3status like 2.13, but not with the latest one 2.15.

This was very likely fixed by #492, I suggest closing this issue as a duplicate.
