Mac Luajit error

Trying to install on macOS Catalina 10.15.2 and I've run into this error:

/torch-cl/install/bin/luajit: cannot create state: not enough memory

Is there an easy fix for this? The thread that I found on this topic is somewhat confusing and offers no easy fix: LuaJIT/LuaJIT#518
