Describe the Bug

When attempting to slide beneath the situational slide obstacles, even if Sonic approaches the obstacle while sliding, the game will sometimes stop him anyway as if Sonic just ran at it without sliding, causing him to crawl beneath the obstacle at a snail's pace. It strangely doesn't happen every time, but when it does, it's an immediate S rank killer. I've tried disabling mods that change Sonic's controls thinking that maybe I had enabled a mod that glitches his hitbox or something, but even with no control mods enabled, it still happens more often than not. My guess is that the latest update created a glitch that causes Sonic's hitbox to not always shorten when using the slide move, causing him to stop at these obstacles.

Steps to Reproduce

Go to any stage with an obstacle that Sonic must clear by sliding, like Windmill Isle Act 2 or Jungle Joyride Act 1.

Expected Behavior

I expect Sonic to slide under the obstacle like always, but as of the newest version, this glitch stops him more often than it lets him through.

This just sounds like the typical original game behavior to me.
What FPS are you playing at?

The maximum framerate, but slide obstacles never caused me this issue before the latest patch.

After like 12 attempts because the Steam Deck's recording feature is the pits and kept failing, I finally got a video of the glitch in action. You can see me approaching the hazard while clearly sliding, with a boost to make sure Sonic gets through, but he's halted anyway.

I’m experiencing the same issue on Windows, both in Unleashed Recomp and when I used to run the original game through the Xenia emulator. I'm using a Ryzen 5 5500U.
