Any likelihood of releasing to NPM?

This plugin looks interesting and there appears nothing else out there as full featured or as thought through for SMTPd type function... Was hoping that it might be released to npm soon?

I'd welcome patches to do that, but I'm not entirely sure it suits npm distribution. It's an application not a library, and npm doesn't seem too well suited to applications. I'd welcome being wrong though - I honestly have no idea how to make it go onto npm.

Ok understood - you raise some valid points; i suppose some refactoring could possibly make it package-able. That said I haven't released anything as an NPM package and only recently started with node.js so not yet sure I have the experience to turn something like that around.

an idea could be to make the haraka.js script more like, say, django-admin.py
where you'd use it to generate a config directory

haraka.js startserver myserver

which would basically copy the config directory to a folder called "myserver" in your current dir.
and you could

haraka.js runserver /path/to/myserver

to run haraka with those configs.
does that make sense?
then you could npm install haraka -g (ie. globally), like coffee-script,
and use the main bin to both start a project and run it

Yes that could be done. I wonder if that makes packaging (for RPM and so on) harder...

but i think you're better off tailoring your package for npm

I do agree. And I have looked at it. It's just not an itch I feel the need to scratch yet. I think more documentation and tutorials are going to come first.
