Mouse selection highlights additional lines

When I'm using the mouse to select some text inside vim or less/bat on MacOS 15.2, it highlights a piece of an additional line where I didn't hover over.

After writing the above, I notice term was likely the culprit so I removed that and restarted. It highlights the correct characters now. Notice that it always selects the correct characters, only highlight seem wrong.

I'm copying the value I have on Fedora 41 because there, TERM=xterm-ghostty breaks PS1 colors so I set it to xterm-256color and never bothered again. But it seems on macOS this has the side effect I noticed.

Just posting it here for anyone else facing this self-inflicted issue.

I have a similar problem and it goes away after restarting ghostty. I noticed it happened after ghostty is running for a few hours. I'm also almost always running tmux inside ghostty.

Do either of you have some text I can cat and guidance on where to start selection to see this? I'm not able to reproduce this.

I haven't seen this problem after upgrading from v1.0.1
