@konopkja great overview! One clarification question: Which maturity level would you assign chains that don't make the "emerging" threshold? i.e. chains with less than $150M TVL or less than 6 months live?

That is tough, Id say it could be something like: "Experimental" as this means the projects on such network must be in a very early phase

I ran these requirements on a few Layer 2s and here is the output.

The current requirements would call Mantle, Immutable X, Metis, and other "early phase" even though they are already quite old and battle-tested.

This is the case because they either don't have sufficient risk scores (i.e. Mantle and Metis both only have 1/5) or because their TVS is too low (i.e. IMX only has $45M).

I'd argue that the TVS thresholds should be removed from some of the levels since not all L2s will focus on defi heavy use-cases.

Would be great to get more people involved in this discussion though.

mantle and immutable X, just like other networks are optimiums and validiums right? For now we are only looking at rollups, but in the future this decision could be revisited, curious of your thoughts
