Adding an email address doesn't automatically continue once validated

I thought we polled for validation now to automatically continue?

Steps to reproduce

1. Go to Settings
2. Type in an email, click "Add"
3. Get distracted by a notification and exit settings
4. Go to email to verify and click link
5. See an unformatted page (this should probably have some pretty formatting and look more professional, with some Matrix branding) confirming that email is validated
6. In Element, go back to settings and see that email has failed to get added

What I expected

Element remembers that I'm trying to add an email for longer than the settings dialog is open.
If I finish validating email, it's automatically added (like when validating email on registration).
The confirmation window from Matrix looks professional.
