I guess this is some kind of "niche" feature but I've found a bunch of issues:

  • regarding Sanskrit, it seems to be handled as English and thus can't be displayed as IAST according to user preferences: link
    (contrary to the Authors here, which can be displayed either as IAST or Devanagari)

  • something that could be related, it seems that any etext in Sanskrit is tagged as English and thus can't be transliterated either: link1 / link2

  • search in Chinese works when using the full author name but not a substring of it: link

thanks! Ah yes, I should convert the Devanagari strings into IAST in the database... and yes, fix the search for SEA languages, sorry for that!
