filters are giga cursed, especially the format for all the valueorarray stuff, this is likely document properly somewhere else, maybe alchemy or some provider and chatgpt also does a good job explaining this I discovered

As I saw it was indeed a lot to digest, do we want a small comment or 10-20 line comment would be more appropriate considering it's quite "cursed" as you said?

imo more verbose docs are better
