@desrosj I wonder if there's a way to skip that above message about joining slack for PR authors that have a connected GH and WP.org account? |
Good idea! I am in favor. Though it is possible someone has linked their .org profile to their GH one and never logged into Slack, I think it would be a very small minority of community members. |

I think the Author field is referenced in the plugin list in the dashboard, not on the dotorg site. After applying this PR, it will look like this:
Perhaps we could just transfer the Gutenberg plugin itself to the wordpressdotorg
user?
By the way, in order to transfer the Gutenberg plugin to another user, I think we need to contact the plugin team.
Hey folks, sorry I missed the ping. A transfer perhaps makes more sense. I'll follow up on it. |
Thanks @mtias! I think that this change is still relevant after that happens, though. |
What?
This pull request includes a minor update to the
gutenberg.php
file. The change updates the author information from "Gutenberg Team" to "wordpressdotorg" in the file header. Why?
The plugin currently shows as "By Matias Ventura" on dotorg: https://wordpress.org/plugins/gutenberg/.
How?
In making the Author header field change and then having @mtias go to https://wordpress.org/plugins/gutenberg/advanced/ he'll be able to update to the
wordpressdotorg
user and then have the plugin page show as "By WordPress.org".Testing Instructions
