Glide64 and Glide64mk2 crash / Mupen64Plus #728

@ghost

Description

When using Glide64 or Glide64mk2 and setting the resolution to 1920x1440 or higher, Bizhawk crashes with an "Bizhawk.Client.EmuHawk has stopped working" error.

Steps to replicate error:

  1. Load a N64 ROM.
  2. Set the plugin to either Glide64 or Glide64mk2
  3. Set the resolution to 1920x1440 or higher from the drop-down list.
  4. Reboot the core.
  5. Let the game run for a few seconds.

This does not affect any other plugin such as GLideN64 or Rice. It also should be noted that I've encountered this issue on Windows 7 with an AMD R9-285, and Windows 10 with both an AMD R9-285 and an Nvidia GTX1080 - so the issue does not appear to be hardware of software specific.

I did a few tests and these resolutions also seem to work fine in a stand-alone copy of Mupen64Plus so the problem appears to be localized to Bizhawk's N64 implementation. Versions could affect this, perhaps.

I'd also like to see how common this issue is with other users too (I know of some users who are experiencing this and some who aren't). If you're just browsing through the issues and have come across this, quickly fire up Bizhawk and follow the steps above and see if it crashes or not - then post your result here and if possible, your system setup (OS & hardware). Seeing if there's a correlation between circumstances may help reproduce the issue and narrow down causes of the problem.
