Description
Hello Nico,
Thank you for these great reports !!
A few thoughts, looking at the Disease Ontology.
missing label, Property = rdfs:label
- the errors identified - are looking at OBO files (DO subset files).
- could this check be updated to look at rdfs:label only for .owl files ?
missing definitions, for non DOID terms:
- could this check exclude non DOID terms ?
- e.g. there are 27 non-DO terms: title, dc:date, license, date, etc.
that do not have definitions, but are not disease terms
metric of 'ontology used by' :
- this collection of ontologies listed is great, I could see this being a very useful table for
grants/demonstrating usage; and for displaying interoperability in the OBO Foundry
- this is a tough metric to pin down, as not all reuse includes reusing of purls or IDs.
- In addition to the ontologies listed in the dashboard for the DO, I would ask to have added:
- HPO, IDO, Mondo, OGMS, Ontology of Precision Medicine and Investigation and PRO;
- as DO is used in these projects (albeit in different ways, sometimes as xrefs, elsewhere in
annotations)
- For future consideration: is there a mechanism to enable the ontology developers to list their
users; I collect this info for the DO, and categorize by the type of user/project; or could
ontologies add a link to their own websites (where they include a list of users/collaborators)
relations report: could a look up in BFO be included, as some relations have moved there, e.g. part_of
One additional thought: publications were mentioned during the call today.
- Could a place be added (in each ontologies metadata) for a link to a MyNCBI collection of
citations?
- We curate who is citing our project, collecting the PubMed IDs into a public collection.
Cheers,
Lynn
