Wiki not linked on homepage

I wanted to discover the wiki at wiki.nixos.org, but didn't find it on the homepage at https://nixos.org/ but also not at https://nixos.org/community/

Is there a specific reason the wiki is not linked? I could only find it via the announcement on the discourse page

I would have expected the Wiki to be linked at the bottom of every page, right next to forum and matrix chats, and especially on the community page, as one of the official spaces.

Hey, from a logical standpoint we expect people to find the wiki where they would be looking to learn things, which is, self speaking, the "Learn" menu item. Though I can absolutely understand what brought you to the "Community" section, which is from my perspective not really the place to put it, since it does not really serve the interactivity.

Regarding the landing page, this is already an area we are collecting ideas to redesign/restructure it. I'm happy to take your expectation as an input to maybe refer to quick learning resources on there if our final design allows for that.

What I think we can resolve immediately is adding a footer link. You're absolutely right to expect a wiki link in the footer, as many other pages have one there as well. I guess this serves as a great addition to help people discover the wiki more quickly.

@thilobillerbeck I may be missing something, but I can't seem to find the wiki link in the page footer. Is there anything I can do to help this along?

Hey, this is on the radar, but we have other priorities currently. And yes, you can help with that, there is a YAML file containing all footer links.

Hm, I feel a bit lost where to put the Wiki. The current footer feels a bit... random almost?

For example summer of nix is something I would have expected in the contribute section, and a dedicated documentation section that would house the wiki, the various manuals and stuff like noogle seems very much to be missing.

The wiki should probably go in the "The Project" category?

This would be missing the equivalent of "Get things done", that's where documentation and such would go.
