About The Pull Request

This PR makes maintenance areas heavily corrupt headset signals. Any message sent by a standard headset will have its outgoing message corrupted and garbled by 55 to 85 percent. Tcomm processors will not fix this. Station bounced radios and similar can still send their messages without corruption making them more useful for maintenance dwellers. Syndicate headsets are completely unaffected by maintenance and will continue to send messages unaffected.

Why It's Good For The Game

Honestly I hate this. Staff requested to add more interesting danger to the maintenance clause. Also gives a few items like the station bounced radio more use instead of something many just toss away, Potential increase for gps gameplay too.

Changelog

🆑 Siro
add: Maintenance heavily corrupts crew sent messages while in maintenance. Incoming messages are unaffected.
balance: Syndicate headsets/other communication devices that don't broadcast via bluespace tcoms are unaffected. Processors do not remove or reduce maintenance corruption.

i feel like this will not add any danger besides just making communication more ass without a purpose. People who walk in maints are mostly antags, NOT normal crew and will just make communication harder for them unless they have a specific channel to communicate on. Hell, maint walking officers won't be affected that much because there are still body cameras. This just has no point at all besides making things shit on purpose.
I'm not even talking about setting some gimmick shit in maints while people are trying to have a conversation with you on radio. Shit won't work. Tcomms blackout is already feels ass enough.

I can't make any other comment besides I have an idea on what to do for the Tcomms black out. I had planned on making a better visual image on how to connect everything up again I need to get that done.

personally I feel a better option would be to pull the PR from TG that added a craftable low power radio jammer while improving the syndie radio jammer. garbling messages is more annoyance while having an adequate counterplay that requires preparation feels better in my eyes

first impression: this fucking sucks
Maints do not feel any more dangerous at slightest. I was right, the only thing it did was literally just prevent me from interacting from people on radio. I want to roleplay and interact to people regardless if im in a hallway or in location thats literally 50% of station in some cases.
The radios bypassing it will just make it worse. If every single maint dweller would suddenly start carrying around radios life for antags would be worse because you will have to gamble in which pocket or bag their radio is in AND turn it off.
I don't see how this change brings ANYTHING useful besides blatant rp denial. People already BARELY RP, I don't see why would you try to make it worse.
If you really want antags to have more ways to counter radios, add a makeshift radio jammer.
