Here I've removed the over-specification that DiscreteForcing must have a Function in the second parameter so that an object can be put there instead, and a method on that object be the forcing function (don't think I'm describing this very well).

This is useful if you want to pass information to a forcing by defining a struct like:

struct StructForcing{D}
    data :: D
end

(forcing::StructForcing)(i, j, k, grid, clock, model_fields) = forcing.data[i, j, k]

Then this would fail with this error:

MethodError: objects of type DiscreteForcing{Nothing, StructForcing{Array{Float64, 3}}} are not callable Struct method forcing [CPU]: Error During Test at In this example, you could achieve it by just using a normal array forcing, but there are more complicated cases where I would find this useful.

I would like to do this for boundary conditions too but removing the Forcing from here:

function BoundaryCondition(Classification::DataType, condition::Function;

and changing

BoundaryCondition(Classification::DataType, condition) = BoundaryCondition(Classification(), condition)

to dispatch on numbers or arrays does not work and loads of the tests fail.

I'm ok with removing Function here by the way. I don't think we need a test for it --- those tests are in Julia Base (ie we don't need to test that callable objects are possible).

Why is <:Function there anyways?

The only thing I can think of is that users have to subtype <:Function for this to work and maybe that makes code more legible.

But it's a restriction of StructForcing also has to subtype something else. So I would actually be in favor of removing the <:Forcing restriction. Note there are many places in the code we allow this.

I couldn't see a reason for the <:Function here (as opposed to in the boundary conditions stuff where it doesn't work without).
