No idea - it might be some kind of DDC issue with volume control. Did you try adjusting the volume with the display's OSD or if all else fails simply resetting the monitor? |

Thanks for the quick reply. The monitor has no internal speakers and no OSD for volume control. I have tried resetting it and have also played around with BetterDisplay settings to no avail. So right now I'm staring down a complete reset of the Mac. |

Ok consider it resolved. I connected the monitor to another device to test, couldn't get the monitor to display an image, reconnected the Mac and all now seems ok. |

Wondering if anyone can help. I have just tried BetterDisplay on my M4 Mini with a MSI MD271UL with external speakers connected to the 3.5mm port on the monitor and with DDC enabled the volume control worked with my keyboard.
However when testing it I bumped the volume all the way down and when I bumped it back up I have no sound output from my speakers. I have tried disabling DDC volume control, uninstalling BetterDsplay, rebooting and disconnecting all cables, etc, etc but still no sound output from the 3.5mm port...
Any ideas?
