And I don't use @vicons/ionicons5，just use vue3 with eslint and ts in my project.
System: window10
vscode: v1.59.1
Volar: v0.27.7
vue: v3.2.3

the version v0.27.8 is seems normal in my pc, and I will also validate it on my company computer.

In Vue2 project I have also faced the problem CPU is Hight and VS Code is almost dead.

I can't start to check the problem without a reproduce.

If the problem does not appear at the beginning, restarting VSCode may help (not "Restart Volar server" or "Reload Window").

I restarted VS Code a lot times but can't solve this problem.
My project use unplugin-auto-import unplugin-vue2-script-setup vue-demi vite-plugin-windicss @vue/runtime-dom...etc.

It's hard to locate problem at which process, I will provide a mini repo if I figured it out.

I reinstalled vscode and volar, but the CPU was still 100%. Only when volar was disabled can it return to normal

have you installed naive-ui and its recommended icon lib vicons? If yes ,I guess the problem is caused by this. :)
