EINVALIDPACKAGENAME Error

I don't understand what's wrong, but I get this error.

npm install react-map-gl mapbox-gl
npm error code EINVALIDPACKAGENAME
npm error Invalid package name "react- -gl" of package "react- -gl@^8.0.2": name can only contain URL-friendly characters.

I found the solution by correcting the package.json which for some reason had react- -gl pre-installed
