Eclipse plugin, matching current IntelliJ and VS Code plugins
Tier
Free
License
Apache 2.0
Motivation
Background
We’ve recently made plugins for IntelliJ and VS Code that help with Hotswap and support Copilot.
We could do the same for Eclipse, which continues to be popular in the java community.
Problem
Copilot cannot easily be used with Eclipse, as none of the integrations are present. Even though Copilot in principle can be used without a plugin, the experience will not be very good.
When using Flow, Hotswap should be in use, or Copilot will be very clunky – and we can expect pretty much all Eclipse users to favor Flow over Hilla (due to TypeScript / React support).
Solution
Create (or update existing) Eclipse plugin to match functionality in IntelliJ / VS Code.
Notes
TODO this needs a list of features specified.
Requirements
Plug-in for Eclipse with Hotswap and Copilot features
Documentation

Nice-to-haves
Risks, limitations and breaking changes
Risks
Limitations
Does not necessarily have to have absolute parity with IntelliJ, especially regarding project creation (which differs in each IDE).
Breaking changes
Potential deprecation / replacement of existing Eclipse plugin or functionality in that plugin.
