Kotlin 2.0 is currently at beta3 at this point, and the doc said that the Kotlin Gradle plugin started to store its data in .kotlin by default, instead of .gradle/kotlin.
Maybe once a future version of Spring Boot with Kotlin 2.0 is released, consider adding the .kotlin directory into .gitignore for Gradle based project
