In reverse: semantic versioning doesn't really capture development milestones well. Rocket is (as the docs claim) production-ready - I have a Rocket application running in production for a large organization. I don't want to change the way Rocket handles it's versioning yet.

For 0.6 - I'd love to get something out soon, but I'm going to want some time and effort to get a couple specific PRs merged before that happens. Specifically, I'd like to tackle Typed Errors and hopefully some TLS improvements first. Typed Errors is a fundamental change to error handling, which completely changes a recommended way to write Rocket applications. It's also a heavily breaking change. I'm also going to spend some time this weekend and go over the differences, and see whether it makes sense to do a 0.5.2 before merging these larger breaking changes.

I'm also going to have to figure out the Rocket release process. I don't have access to update rocket.rs, and may not have access to actually release on crates.io. I've got radio silence from @SergioBenitez recently, although I have been fairly busy myself.

I work on a rather large codebase which uses Rocket - I think it is the most developer friendly framework out there.

It is great to see active development. 'v1' can wait; although it would help in selling the framework - it is a bit 'trust me bro' that each 0.x release shouldn't trash the codebase.

Hopefully Sergio can step up, the move to RWF2 was positive but it looks like life may have got in the way of good intentions, hope he is okay.

Myself, I have some time I can put in to things - possibly even through work (nothing crazy, probably a few hours a week). I have a speculative PR I am working on, and some thoughts on improving performance by adding in some feature switches. If you were able to get a release out that would help in making a case to allocate that time.
