How to render to image without showing a window?

I am trying to render an image without opening a window, now I also have a problem on Mac where you can't open a window outside of the main thread, it hangs. But when I try to run my code without first calling InitWindow() it fails (segfaults if I remember). Is this kind of flow supported?

You don't need to open a window if using Image API. Please, could you post some sample code of what you are doing?

I am trying to render a texture on a plane with depth of field and then write it back to an image, I need opengl to do that, which I guess is initialized inside InitWindow
