How to add amenity=school?

To my surprise, the data is not in the repo, but from wikidata I can see OSM index ID and then find the details at nsi website, so how do I submit missing entries, should I create a PR as usual?

There are some school districts added to NSI already:

Our collection script may have already collected the names of school districts that operates >10 schools.

Yes you can submit PRs to add more, but keep in mind that NSI is mostly for the sorts of things that have a lot of similarly tagged items. So if it's an operator that doesn't operate many schools, we normally would not add it - it is easier to just add that information directly into OSM.

Taking a look at Maryland, I can see Baltimore City + County having their NSI entry, meanwhile Anne Arundel County has nothing there. AA county even has more schools than the City.

I'm not sure if I should submit a PR or do something else. I did a simple search but not found any mention of Baltimore School district in the data files, how were they added? Can I add AA County the same as the City?

It looks like a mix of entries added when we process the planet file, and cleanups done by other project maintainers.
This file is really big, so "git blame" view and diffs don't work great.

Searching that file for amenity/school turns up the items and their counts.
