Refs: microsoft/vscode-docs#1949

Complexity: 2

This test is hard: You need to pretend to be a complete novice to VS Code Extension Development. Read the top-level Overview, and then read through all topics under the Get Started. Meanwhile, follow along by cloning / developing with the https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode-extension-samples/tree/ext-docs/hellocode-sample.

Any feedback is welcome. Specifically, look for:

Docs

  • Any factual errors?
  • Anything not explained clear enough?
  • Is the doc hard to follow (progression not smooth)?
  • Does the subtopic make sense? Can we re-organize the content in better ways?
  • Can you find information whatever your need is? For example, for a "I-just-like-pure-JS-no-TS-please" developer, or a "I'm-a-designer-let-me-do-themes" developer, or a "I've-published-5-popular-JS-libraries-guru" developer: Can they all find what they are looking for?

Samples

Only for https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode-extension-samples/tree/ext-docs/hellocode-sample and https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode-extension-samples/tree/ext-docs/hellocode-minimal-sample

  • Does the sample contain anything unnecessary or not self-explanatory?
  • Can any of the sample source code comment be improved?
