This milestone, we will enable the side panel for stable users. This comes with quite a few changes to create a coherent experience. This item is focused on view movement in and out of the side panel and is rather free-form. Some ideas to test below.

  1. Drag views from the side bar or panel to the side panel. Do this with the side panel closed and open.
  2. Open multiple windows, some with the side panel open and some with the side panel closed. Move views around in one window. Check others.
  3. After moving views around, reload the window. Ensure that views remain in the right places.
  4. Install extensions that contribute views, move views around and uninstall the extensions. Ensure nothing breaks.
  5. Move the layout (You can use the new Customize Layout... command to do this quickly.
  6. Add a shortcut to toggle the side panel
  7. Reset view locations occasionally (Command: Reset View Locations)
