What is the best alternative FireBeetle2 with an external antenna

I'm getting the "wifi connection failed" error about every 3 refreshes, so I think I need a bigger antenna than what's on the pcb. Which of these two FireBeetle2s with an external antenna ports would work best ( FireBeetle 2 ESP32-UE (N16R2) or FireBeetle 2 Board ESP32-S3-U (N16R8) ) ?

I realize an external antenna will take more power, but It's better than displaying an error screen 33% of the time.

The N16R2 looks like it has the low power pad but it's missing pin D11 (labeled NC on the pcb)

I'm using a N16R2 (with internal antenna) It works fine if you reassign D11 to another pin for the BME
