Why was APC removed from cache stores?

I noticed that APC User Cache has been removed from the cache stores in config/cache.php file.
Why? I added it to my project and it still works.

Taylor has already stated that he removes some things from the documentation when he doesn't like something. Model::shouldBeStrict is a good example of it. It doesn't exists on the Laravel 12.x docs.
