Steps to reproduce

This has worked already before downloading latest images today 03/10/25

  • create a new knowledge stack stack with in my case Parent/Child, Chapter Chunking and Hybrid search with Weighting
  • embed, wait.
  • use the stack
  • add documents later, configure everything needed
  • click on proceed/next
  • error message shows up "reranker model is needed" (even though it cannot be selected

✔️ Expected Behavior

additional documents cannot be added to a existing stack

There is a known issue in Dify version 1.0.0 where the system incorrectly requires a rerank model even when rerank is disabled in the knowledge-base settings. This bug has been fixed in a subsequent update (PR #15235). As a temporary workaround for version 1.0.0, you need to configure a rerank model in the Model Provider page by adding a rerank model API key, even if you don't intend to use it [1].

This should be fixed in 1.0.1
