When the app ad block one has an app protection turned on The companion app won’t connect to Home Assistant. All the app does is blocked in app ads and pop-ups, which does a great job. However, I noticed when I went to Home Assistant it just kept loading. I hit add a new server to see what would happen and it can see the server locally, even showing the ip address, cause I was able to add it to the app again. However, when the app loads, it can’t find Home Assistant. I had no external URL set the second time and it’s still didn’t load. I had removed it because I use Tailscale VPN outside of my Wi-Fi and the external URL to connect and wanted to make sure that wasn’t the issue.
To Reproduce
Download the app ad block one from the App Store and turn on in app protection and open the Home Assistant companion app. It’s free with no in app purchases.
Expected behavior
The app to just load and show me my Home Assistant settings without having to turn off in app protection, which I currently have to do but anytime I wanna block ads in another app, Home Assistant stopped working.
Screenshots
Additional context
Other apps that use local connection over Wi-Fi run fine
