Update (@alexander-fenster): we don't need to depend on
protobufjsin the main library code because we pull it fromgoogle-gax, but the samples in this library useprotobufjsso I'm changing this PR to only bump the dependency in samples, and removing the dependency from the main library.This PR contains the following updates:
